The Boot Inn is located just off the A303, in idyllic Berwick St. James. Its location makes the Boot Inn a great stopping point on journeys between London and the West Country, or an ideal centre for short or long breaks. There are many walks in the surrounding countryside, and fine attractions like Salisbury Cathedral, Wilton House and Stonehenge all within 10 miles of the inn. There are also three charming B&Bs and a campsite within walking distance.

The Boot had its beginning as an 18th century coaching inn and it retains many original features, including a large inglenook fireplace. It offers traditional British fare and a good selection of wines and real ales. The dining room is kept cosy in winter with fireside tables. In summer months, you may wish to enjoy the large beer garden.

Cathy and Giles bring their own style of hospitality to the Boot Inn. They are both formally trained chefs and they believe passionately in the use of local produce where possible. Cathy and Giles continue to uphold these fine traditions by serving only the best British food and ales. The Boot is a dog friendly pub.

Our annual holiday is from the 10th to the 24th of February and our kitchen will be closed during this period. However, our bar will be open as usual. The kitchen will reopen at 12.00pm on Tuesday 26th of February. We look forward to seeing you on our return.
